A Monster of a Postcard and More

Happy St. Patrick's Day my lovely friends. Today is my brother's birthday. He doesn't live in the same town or the same state as I do so I will give him a call and wish him a fabulous day.  Who's going to be drinking green beer or some other wild concoction that is greenish in color?  At the very least, make sure you wear green so you don't get pinched. :)

Today's post is all about incoming postcards that I have received over the last week or so.  First, is a postcard that my pal Lynn sent to me. It made me laugh and it made my day.  Thanks Lynn.

A Postcrossing from Great Britain.

The sender writes: Hello! Hope you like this postcard of a dog! I think he was watching his owner walk away because of the sad look in his eyes. :(  There is a room in our house that my newphew won't enter (he's only 1). We think it's because there's a ghost in there that we can't see. Children are supposed to have an ability to see the paranormal, but lose it as they age. Creepy! Saturday Mail

Good morning. Yesterday was not a good day for me to be on the computer. I tried to post my mail but blogger was acting up like a spoiled child. Maybe BlogSpot was following Google Chrome's lead because Chrome is acting very weird today.  I am now reverting back to internet explorer which I actually prefer, but that's a long story as to why I rarely use that browser any more. Anyway, I'll try it again. So far things look good, but one never knows until he tries to upload pictures to his post.

 

In my mailbox I received two Postcrossings, one from Poland and one from Slovakia.

 

Slovakia writes: Hello JarieLyn, this card reminds me of my summers spent at granny's village when I was little. There was no windmill, but the cows in the fields were as cute as this one. I used to watch my granny milk the cows she had, but I myself was always too scared to try. Maybe this summer. :) Warm Greetings, Juste.

An Open Letter to my Pen Pals

My dearest pen pals,

I've been in kind of a slump lately.  I'm not sure why, but every time I sit down to write a letter, I seem to get stuck.  I have so much to say, but nothing comes out. Is this what they call, "writer's block"?  I have the words swirling around in my head but I can't seem to put pen to paper. I am a month behind in my replies.

I think about every single one of you on a daily basis. I feel like I have cultivated some real friendships through letter writing and I don't want to damage the beginning of new friendships by taking too long to respond.

Lynn M., Kimmie, Rachel, Jackie, Mariska, L. R., Lisa, Patt, Margie, Melanie and Lynn B:   I have all of your latest letters in front of me and I promise I will start replying next week in the order that they arrived.  (yes, I have a system of keeping track and I never file a letter away until I've replied to it, AND I never throw a letter away)

Melanie, you are a new pen pal and I appreciate and love the letter you sent me. Please be patient. I promise I will reply to your letter soon.

Until my pen touches paper, expect the unexpected and enjoy the magic of little moments.

Yesterday, I wrote five postcards for Postcrossings.

One recipient was using her dog as the addressee and wanted other pets to write.

So, here's what I came up with.

This Postcrossing stirred my creative side a little. as much as writing on a postcard can. So hopefully, it will help me get back on track.

A Dog From Germany

Good Morning!

I woke up with the nagging feeling that I had to do something today but couldn't remember what. And then it hit me. I need to buy a new AC charger for my phone because mine took a shit about a week ago. I'm getting tired of having to go out to the garage to hook my phone into the car charger.
Also, I'm still on the hunt for a good pair of sandals. I need lots of cushion in the ball of the foot and it's not easy finding a good pair of shoes. Even the most expensive designer shoes are lacking comfort.  Oh well........we'll see what happens as the day goes on.

Let's move on to the mail. After all that's the main reason for this blog.  Representing the title of this post is a wonderful Postcrossing I received from Germany.

 

It's a terrific artist rendition of a dog and I love it.

Good Morning Bloglings!

We had some crazy weather yesterday with heavy winds and rain that came without warning.

I managed to get a lot done around the house and I wrote a few letters.

 

I also received some really cute postcards from Postcrossing.

Hello my friends.

I've been feeling so good lately, until this morning.

My hands, fingers, and wrists have pain and stiffness.

But I'm in a great mood so that helps.

 

I've received some great mail again.

It takes awhile to receive Russian mail, sometimes a full month.

It was a used pc and he recycled the back of it leaving some of the original area still visible.

I am an avid collector of used vintage postcards.

I've never seen one that was used twice, maybe this one will double in sentimental value.
