I'm a Winner!!!!!

I'm sure you've heard the phrase, "you can't win if you don't play". Most people think of the lottery when they hear that phrase, but it holds true for any contest or give-away.  One of the blogs I follow, Rite While U Can  was conducting a week long give-away on the blog awhile back so I entered every day. Each day had a different prize. Well, lo and behold, I won one of the prizes. Woo Hoo, Yipee, Hooray! I received my package and this is what was inside.

A tote bag with goodies inside.

2 packs of paper pens, and 6 colorful handmade notecards.

Beautiful!  Thanks Barb.

It's the first day of a brand new year and I feel great.
I had some ups and downs in 2013 but for the most part, it was a great year.
I stepped outside my comfort zone and did some things I'd never done before.
I stretched myself both physically and mentally and I am better for it.
I signed up for all kinds of classes and workshops and I have learned a lot.
I'm still evolving and growing into the person I was meant to be and I am having fun getting there.
2013 was a practice round for what lies ahead.
There is no doubt in my mind that I will manifest so much more in 2014.
I am ready to embrace the challenges that will make me a better person.
My connection to my higher self is growing stronger which is opening my heart wider than ever.
I have so many things I wish to accomplish but mostly I want to be true to myself.
This blog is mainly about the mail I send and receive, but it means so much more than that.
It's about spirtual connection, human connection and nourishing my soul.
I hope to bring more authenticity to my posts.
And mostly, I hope to bring a little bit of joy to you, whoever you are and wherever you may be.

Happy New Year My Friends.

I love you all, and I wish every single one of you success, prosperity, peace and happiness.

Postcard Saturday

Hi all.
It sure is windy here in Vegas today and I loathe the wind.
My mailbox wasn't filled to the brim today, but I did receive a few postcards.

A lovely multi-view Postcrossing from Belgium.
The sender writes:
Hi Jarielyn!
Wow, you live in Las Vegas!
I totally got this mainstream picture of Las Vegas but I bet you live in a "normal" house in a "normal" neighbourhood.
Am I right :)
I really liked the little text you wrote about yourself.
you seem to be the kind of person who I would be friend with :)
I hope you like my card.
Maastricht is the city where I go to college and it's in the Netherlands;
I'm also Dutch. I just live in Belgium, that's all. :)
I hope some day to lbe able to visit the USA, would be awesome.
xox Raquel

Thanks Raquel.
I appreciate the kind words.

Another Postcrossing, this one from Russia.
It arrived sealed in an envelope.
The sender writes:

Saturday's In Box

Yesterday I posted my outgoing mail.

Here's the incoming.

An official postcrossing card from the Czech Republic.
The sender writes:
Hello, many greetings from Reporyje-a small part of the city of Prague.
On the card you can see the most inportant monuments-the church, the mill, the old school, railway station and WWII memorial.
I hope you are well and wish you happy new year 2013. Bye Filix K-------

A really cute puppy postcard from Thailand.
The sender writes:
Hi,
I'm Kirasorn from Thailand.
This is Thai Languages ?????? ( Hi)
Sa-Wad-Dee.  ?????? (Thanks)
Khob-Khun.  ????? (I Love You)
Chan-Rak-Thur.  (Happy Postcrossing)
Jirasorn

The question mark areas were Thailand writing. Obviously, my computer doesn't have anything other than english symbols so I cannot duplicate what he wrote.
I thought it was really cool that he wrote me some words with english translation.

A lovely postcard from a swap I joined. ( Send me a postcard USA only)

Another postcard from the same swap, different person.
This one is from New Hamshire.

A postcard from Mendy.

A letter on a notecard from Carla at 365 letters blog.
She was the first person I ever wrote a penpal letter to back in early September.
I had forgotten all about it because I never got a reply until yesterday.
This was a nice surprise.
Thanks, Carla.

That's it for the weekend mail.
Have a nice Sunday.

Write more letters!
