New Year, New Mail...........

I'm the only person I know who goes to the post office every single day.

 

 

I'm afraid I'll miss out on finding something like this in my mailbox.

 

Yeah, I know it will still be there waiting for me if I skip a day or two.

But I just can't help myself.

 

 

I knew this paper was coming and I wanted to greet it right away.

I wanted to touch it and feel the texture and imagine whose name would be at the top of this paper when I write my next letter.

I still haven't a clue.

I received two postcrossing cards today.

 

 

The first one from Germany.

It is so cute.

The sender writes:

Best X-Mas wishes from Germany!

I just came back home from a short holiday in Finland.

It was nice and there was lots of snow.

(In Germany we have 13 degrees celcius today!!)

On the last day of 2012, I had a very happy mailbox indeed.

 

 

Not one, but two pieces of mail from Angie.

I was so looking forward to reading her mail.

This is a letter I received for a swap I joined.

45 + snailmail.

It's for us old folks 45 yrs old and older.

This was a great letter and she sent me her family newsletter as well, and enclosed a couple of postcards from my favorite U.S. State, Tennessee.

I had two pieces of mail that went out yesterday.

 

 

This letter is going to my swap partner for six weeks of snail mail.

Yep, I got lazy after doodling all the other stuff on the front of the envie.

Creativity Strikes...........

I finally learned how to doodle creatively.

I still can't draw worth a crap, but at least now I can doodle something I actually like.

 

 

This is a handmade postcard made by me just this morning.

I cut some cardboard to postcard size with my paper cutter.

 

Then I traced around the postcard onto some paper.

I doodled inside the lines.

Then I glued the paper to the cardboard and cut off the excess with scissors.

Then I added splashes of color with some watercolor paint.

 

Tada!

My first real doodle that I am proud of.

Somebody will be receiving this very soon, as I mailed it this afternoon.
