Animals of Austalia

"That Dingo Ate My Baby". That's what I always hear in my mind when I see a photo of a dingo. I can't help it. Of course, that incident was a sad situation but it's funny how one little sentence can stick for years and years. How many people on this earth have used that line in a skit? No offense to anyone in Australia or anywhere else for that matter.

This Postcrossing is obviously from Australia. See the dingo in the bottom right hand corner?
The sender writes: Hi JarieLyn all the way from the east coast of Australia. We are surrounded by beaches and often see whales and dolphins at play in the wild. I'm a mum of four kids and we love to go camping and spend most of our free time outdoors. Winter has just started. Our days are still warm and sunny but nights chilly. Sending you peace and happiness. <3 Bel

Other animals pictured above are Koala, Wombat, Sugar Glider, Pretty Face Wallaby, Eastern Water Dragon, and Dingo.

My neighbor's sister-in-law had a sugar glider as a pet. She used to bring it with her wherever she went. I saw it once and got to pet it. That was about five years ago. The sugar-glider died just a few months back. My neighbor's sister-in-law is heartbroken.

Outgoing Postcrossings

Happy Saturday. It's always gorgeous here. Today, I am going to go walk a labyrinth with some friends. I think it will be a positive way to begin the rest of my day. Also, I want to go to the Farmer's Market that is in the park. I reallly need some fresh fruits and veggies.

Here are five Postcrossings that are going out in today's mail.

This is traveling to Belgium. (The daughter is collecting cards for her Mother's 65th b-day which is in November.)
I write: For Josee'. Discover truth. Explore passion. Create beauty. Have a fabulous birthday. Love and light from my hart to yours. <3 JarieLyn

This one is going to Australia.
I write: Hello Vanessa, after reading your profile, I had to google touchnote cards because I didn't know what it was. I completely agree with you that it defeats the purpose behind postcrossing. Anyway, I love to travel as much as I can. I wish you a happy life. <3 JarieLyn

This one is going all the way to Turkey.
I write: Hello Cansu, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I enjoy traveling, exploring, and listening to audiobooks. I am married with no children. I love dogs but don't hav any pets at the moment. I am looking forward to a visit to Cedar City, Utah pretty soon to photograph some old wagon trains and wagon wheels. Have a beautiful day. <3 JarieLyn

This creepy little girl is headed to the Netherlands.
I write: Hi Maria, I consider myself to be an open-minded person too. I am schooling myself on all kinds of spiritual and religious beliefs. The one thing I know for sure is that we are all energy. The journey is fascinating. Wishing you a happy and fulfilled life. <3 JarieLyn

This naked lady is headed to Italy.
I write: Hello Sergio, I've been hoping to find the right person to send this card to. I'm not sure where it originated but she's traveling from Las Vegas to you. Hope you enjoy. <3 Wishing you the best. JarieLyn

(I covered up the breasts in photoshop because I don't want to get into trouble with blogger)

Have a fantastic day beautiful people.

An angel to watch over you

Good afternoon lovelies. This morning I woke up to an awesome text from my esthetician telling me to come in to the salon for a complimentary microdermabrasion facial. Well who am I to turn that down. It's normally $65.00 for this service and I got it for free. Not only that, but she also gave me a couple of gift certificates to give to my friends. ( I was already planning to buy one for somebody) So, I tipped her $50.00 because really what she gave me was worth four times that amount. I am one blessed lady. What does this have to do with mail? Well, nothing but it is a prelude to the first postcrossing card I'm about to show you.

Outgoing Mail:

This little angel is on her way to Natasha in Russia.
I write: Dear Natasha, I'm sending this angel to watch over you. Of course, there are angels all around you all ready, but one from me to you is special. I send you positive thoughts with divine love from my heart to yours. May the angels keep blessing you all the days of your life. <3 Peace and happiness to you. <3 ~JarieLyn

These two beautiful creatures are headed to Svetlana in Belarus.
I write:  Hello Svetlana, it's currently raining here in Las Vegas, Nevada where I live. We don't get much rain here in the desert so it is a nice welcome. I turned 50 last year. Yikes! I am a positive thinker. I believe in the law of attraction and that we create our circumstances by what we focus on. I talk to angels and spirit guides and I am currently studying to become a Reiki Master. I love my life. <3 sending positive vibes your way. <3 JarieLyn

This postcard is going to Emma in the UK.
I write: Hello lovely Emma. I'm from Las Vegas, Nevada but I travel to California a lot, which is where the image on this postcard is located. Congratulations on becoming a pediatric nurse. I am studying to become a Reiki Master. I believe in both Eastern and Western healing modalities. Love from my <3 to yours. JarieLyn

This touristy card is traveling to Megan in Taiwan.
I write: Hello megan, I have lived in Las Vegas since 1998. There's lots to do here, especially for photographers. We have one of the best camera clubs in the world, with over 300 active members. You can check us out at www.nevadacc.org. We have phenomenal photographers in our club and you can see some of their photos on the website. Wishing you much joy. <3 JarieLyn

This linen postcard is headed to Australia for Amber.
I write: Hi Amber, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I believe this is an actual vintage postcard of Hoover Dam, not a reproduction. (not 100 % sure) I spend most of my days creating art, blogging, reading, and watching TV. Tonight I'm looking forward to watching Vanderpump Rules. :) Make your life awesome. <3 JarieLyn

RIP Chrissy Amphlett

I've always loved the music of The Divinyls and I am saddened by the news that lead singer, Chrissy Amphlett has lost her battle with breast cancer.  I'm sharing one of my favorite songs from her band, Pleasure and Pain.

The Day After

It's the day after the last Christmas party of the year.
We had a great time and came home with a $50.00 Amazon gift card, which I am thrilled about.
A bottle of Vodka, an arm shaker and some animal print underwear, courtesy of the white elephant gift exchange.

Dinner was great.

A large envelope from my penpal, Ally.
I was very excited to open this one.

Inside, a lovely Christmas Card.

And.............

A mail themed zippered bag.
I really like it a lot and it was very thoughtful to include this gift for me.
I could keep my best writing pens in here or maybe some paper or stickers for on the go.
I could keep an array of supplies to easily port anywhere.
Thanks, Ally.
This is a great gift and I will definitely use it.
(Smiles)

No outgoing mail on Saturday but I should have a few pieces leaving my house on Monday.

Happy weekend, everyone.
