Outgoing Postcrossings

Hello friends. It's been raining most of the day. I hope it ends before 9:00 tonight though because I have an outdoor activity planned with a group of people and if it is still raining it might ruin our plans. My fingers are crossed. I love the rain, but just not tonight, please.

A Postcrossing headed to Singapore.
I write: Hi Jant, it's been raining all day today which feels really good because it has cooled the temperature by at least 20 degrees. I love the rain, especially how it makes the air smell. It freshens evrything up. Have a wonderful day. <3 JarieLyn

This Postcrossing is going to France.
I write: Hi Lena, I also like WWII memorabilia. I like the 1940's in general. It seems like a very classy period in time. Sometimes, I wish the world could go back in time but without the war. Things were so much simpler back then. Have a great day. <3 JarieLyn

This one is traveling to  Switzerland.
I write: Hi Benno, greetings from Las Vegas! I have toured the Loretta Lynn Plantation home twice. The home sits on beautiful, lush, green acreage. The state of Tennessee is gorgeous and I wish to live there one day. Loretta Lynn still lives on this peoperty but in a different house, and hidden from the public. I hope you have a wonderful day. <3 JarieLyn

This card is on the way to Belarus.
I write: Hi Alexandr. I live in the amazing city of Las Vegas. I photographed these guitars while on bacation to Texas. This photograph also won 1st place in a photography competition so I am very proud of it. I don't listen to a lot of new music but my favorite current band is Arctic Monkeys. Other than that, I'm stuck in the 80's. Have a fabulous day and keep playing music. It's good for the soul.
<JarieLyn

This one is sailing to the Windy City, Chicago, Illinois.
I write: Greetings from Las Vegas! It's been raining most of the day and I love it. It's the kind of day that's perfect for writing letters or coloring in a coloring book. Have a fantastic day! <3 JarieLyn

3 Well Filled Out Postcards

Good afternoon. Today is my perfect kind of day. I woke up early and there was nothing pressing that I had to do, nor anywhere I had to be. It feels good to not have to be stressed out about doctor appointments, personal appointments, or household errands. Maybe it's the air that is making me feel so good. It hints at the possibility of rain and I can smell it. I love it. I also enjoy the little bit of humidity. Yeah, it feels like home, but somewhere far away from my current home. I dream.

A Postcrossing from China.
Sender writes: Hi JarieLyn! I know you like cute map cards. So I pick out this postcard. Hope you can like it. I love dog too. My family had raised a Schnauzer. I called it Douding. I like it very much. Every day with him together but because of various reason, it is no longer live. I always feel sad for this. Look forward to your reply.

This Postcrossing comes from Portugal.
The sender writes: Ola' Jarielyn, (hello in portuguese) I was born in Rio de Jainero, Brasil, and always like to travel. So when I did 23 years I decide to see the world! Now I am 37 Y.O. and I am taking my PhD in Coimbra. I fell in love with the city (and my husband :)) So I chose this postcard. It is a special edition in celebration of 725 years of the University of Coimbra. It is where I pretty much live, because beside studying I also work as a jounalist. I hope you like it! Best. Karine.

This little tiny angel comes from Russia.
Sender writes: Hello JarieLyn! My name is Katherina. I live in Tver, Russia. I hope you like this "angel" card :) on it is the words of Coco chanel and Sharon Stone. "If you were born without wings-let them grow." and "What vounts in life is not how you fall but how you rise!" All the best, Katherina.

Delivered by an Angel

I love angels. I talk to them and I channel messages from them. Some of you may think it's crazy talk and that's okay. We all believe what we want to believe. Some people talk to God and listen to his guidance. For me, it's the same thing.

This Postcrossing is traveling to Nebraska.
I write: Hi Lindsey, I can't imagine what it's like living in a town with a population of 386. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada where the population is over 2 million. I do long for small town life though. My dream is to someday live on the outskirts of Nashville, TN. There, I could have the best of both worlds. Small town life with access to the big city. Wishing you all the best. <3 JarieLyn

Liberate Your Art, Final Results

I know it's a bit late in posting the final results for this year's annual Liberate Your Art project, and I missed the blog hop but I still wanted to showcase what I received and what I sent.  This is my first year participating and I was sure what to expect. I was excited when I started receiving postcards in the mail, yet I was also just a tad disappointed. No offense to the artists, it's just that because I love snail mail and writing so much, I think my expectations were a bit high in receiving more of a personal greeting on the back of the postcards. Out of the 6 postcards I received, only  two of them had personal messages. Other than that, it was a great experience and I would probably do it again.  It's definitely inspiring to see what kind of art others are creating.

What I received:

I do have a favorite of the bunch but I will keep that to myself.

The following are the three designs I sent. Oh, and I wrote a different personal message on each card. No card said the same thing. And I filled it up as best as I could because to me the message is just as important or even more so than the image. Just my personal opinion.

An image I doodled while watching TV in 2014.

My award winning photograph taken in San Antonio, Texas 2012.

An image I've been drawing for years with a poem I wrote this year in about 5 minutes.

This was a fun project to participate in and I hope that my postcards were well received.

An angel to watch over you

Good afternoon lovelies. This morning I woke up to an awesome text from my esthetician telling me to come in to the salon for a complimentary microdermabrasion facial. Well who am I to turn that down. It's normally $65.00 for this service and I got it for free. Not only that, but she also gave me a couple of gift certificates to give to my friends. ( I was already planning to buy one for somebody) So, I tipped her $50.00 because really what she gave me was worth four times that amount. I am one blessed lady. What does this have to do with mail? Well, nothing but it is a prelude to the first postcrossing card I'm about to show you.

Outgoing Mail:

This little angel is on her way to Natasha in Russia.
I write: Dear Natasha, I'm sending this angel to watch over you. Of course, there are angels all around you all ready, but one from me to you is special. I send you positive thoughts with divine love from my heart to yours. May the angels keep blessing you all the days of your life. <3 Peace and happiness to you. <3 ~JarieLyn

These two beautiful creatures are headed to Svetlana in Belarus.
I write:  Hello Svetlana, it's currently raining here in Las Vegas, Nevada where I live. We don't get much rain here in the desert so it is a nice welcome. I turned 50 last year. Yikes! I am a positive thinker. I believe in the law of attraction and that we create our circumstances by what we focus on. I talk to angels and spirit guides and I am currently studying to become a Reiki Master. I love my life. <3 sending positive vibes your way. <3 JarieLyn

This postcard is going to Emma in the UK.
I write: Hello lovely Emma. I'm from Las Vegas, Nevada but I travel to California a lot, which is where the image on this postcard is located. Congratulations on becoming a pediatric nurse. I am studying to become a Reiki Master. I believe in both Eastern and Western healing modalities. Love from my <3 to yours. JarieLyn

This touristy card is traveling to Megan in Taiwan.
I write: Hello megan, I have lived in Las Vegas since 1998. There's lots to do here, especially for photographers. We have one of the best camera clubs in the world, with over 300 active members. You can check us out at www.nevadacc.org. We have phenomenal photographers in our club and you can see some of their photos on the website. Wishing you much joy. <3 JarieLyn

This linen postcard is headed to Australia for Amber.
I write: Hi Amber, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I believe this is an actual vintage postcard of Hoover Dam, not a reproduction. (not 100 % sure) I spend most of my days creating art, blogging, reading, and watching TV. Tonight I'm looking forward to watching Vanderpump Rules. :) Make your life awesome. <3 JarieLyn

Incoming Postcards and a Letter

Hello out there. Who? You! I went to bed fairly early last night and yet I woke up very late. I'm off to a rough start this morning but yesterday's mail was a smile maker.  First, a pen pal letter I received.

From my pal Margie.

This Postcrossing comes from Ukraine.
The sender writes: Spring- a time of love, a new life, the most beautiful flowers. You-JARIELYN R. embody the most wonderful quality of spring: sunny smile, unpredictable spring thunderstorm, tenderness and freshness of the first leaves. Happy spring! greetings from Ukraine. Sveta.

Aren't those words the most thoughtful you've ever read on a postcard?  If that doesn't make you smile I don't know what will. It sure made my day. :)

My guardian angel I mean, a postcrossing from the Netherlands.
The sender writes: Translation text of the front: May the angel of consolation give you power when you are hurt by the loss. (author: Marinus van den Berg)  Dear JarieLyn, I have found a card with an angel for you! I am a writer of children books and a painter as well. I've also made a painting of an angel. You can see it. www.miekevanhooft.nl/schilderijen   Best wishes! Meike

I looked at her website and her paintings are very colorful and nice. They kind of have a whimsical feel to them. I like them a lot and wouldn't mind hanging one in my house to remind me to play.

A Postcrossing from Finland.
The sender doesn't speak English so she only signed her name, Elsa.

A Postcrossing from the Netherlands.
The sender writes: Hi. Famous Dutch illustration with snow! We had none this winter so far- so I guess we ? have to do it. Greetings from Amsterdam. Happy Postcrossing.

I love the scene depicted in the above card. It makes me think of an old black and white movie.

A Postcrossing from Isle of Man.
The sender writes: Hello JarieLyn- Snail Mail card for you from Isle of Man. Since you live in the desert, I thought I'd send you a card that deals with water! All the best to you, Patrick.

This card does look refreshing. And I never knew there was a country called Isle of Man. I love Postcrossing.  The people I get to meet and the little things they share are really special.
