Incoming

Two letters and 3 postcards.

From the Netherlands, a letter and some art.

From my pal, Jackie.

The three postcards are official postcrossings from Germany, Lithuania, and Poland.

The sender from Germany writes: Hello JarieLyn, greetings from Germany. My name is Richard and I found this lovely Husky card in my winter vacation in the Alps. I'm sure you like it. :) I like cross-country skiing very much and we visited the ? biathlon place in Antholz, Italy. Have fun. Richard.

The sender from Lithuania writes: Warmest regards from Lithuania. I live in a small town near the largest river in Lithuania, Nemunas. I hope that you enjoy this postcard as I do! Happy Postcrossing! Rugile.

The sender from Poland writes: Hello! Greetings from beautiful polish village. It is Wista-City of our ski jump master- Adam Malysz. Maybe you heard about him. Best wishes, Krysztof from Poland.

I really love all the different messages that people write. I never ever get bored with them.  People really do want to send you exactly what they think you will like and they want to write something that will make you smile. Personal expression is a good thing.

Torn and a whole lot of postcards

Hello my friends. Now that the week-end is over it's back to the daily grind. I hope you all are doing what you love to do. It's amazing how passion can propel us forward and lead us to success and joy.

I am happy to report that I had some good mail this week-end, however, there was one postcard that made me feel broken-hearted. Well, that's a slight exaggeration but you'll know what I mean when you see it.

Torn!  Yes, this is how it arrived. Although, I do appreciate good travel marks and scrapes, this one is just a bit over the top. You would think that the postal clerk would have at least tried to tape it back together, but I suppose they are just too darn busy to provide superior customer service.

The card is an official Postcrossing that came from Russia.
The sender writes: JarieLyn, Hi! Greetings from Russian small town of Naro-Fominsk. I love animals and reading too. So I loved the book by Konrad Lorenz "King Solomon's Ring." She's funny and interesting. All the best! Alexandra.

Silly rabbit, feathers are for Indians Native Americans.  Ha ha.
This is a Postcrossing from Lithuania.
The sender writes: Labas-Hello-JarieLyn, best regards from cold Vilnius. We really miss the heat. I hope to you it does not lack in Las Vegas. :) Snow is beautiful, but not for long. This bunny is gray, but in the winter it becomes white. Much happiness!!! Rimvidas. Happy Postcrossing.

Two postcards from my friend, Deyanira.

Two Postcrossings from Germany.
1.) Sender writes: Dear JarieLyn, greetings from Tuebingen, an old, little and very pretty student city in Southwest Germany. You can see our market place with buildings from the 15th and 16th century. It's a real pleasure to walk there and have a coffee or drink in one of the little cafe's or pubs. Have a great time and enjoy your life. Tony.

2.) This Diddl card was written on by several people. It is really adorable on the back.
The senders write: Hello, in a world that is so darn funny, make sure that you are open to laugh or you may be missing the joke. Paul

Love my mom and daddy.

Have a great day!

(there is a Chinese stamp and that is smeared and the sender writes that it is a proverb)

Both of these cards are from Russia.
1.) Sender writes: Hello! Writing you from my workplace. Now is dinner, so I have some free time for watching series "Arrow" hehe. After, I'll go to post office to send this postcard. I hope you'll like cute doll. Have a good day, bye bye. Sasha.

2.) Sender writes: Hello. Privet. Many warm greetings from frosty (-9'c) Russia. Have a nice day! Svetlana.

She then translates the quotes on the postcard:  Sharp-sightedly only one heart: the most important eyes you will not see.~Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
Angels hear the thoughts, so it is enough just to think about good. ~Audrey Makarevich.

My first Postcrossing from Norway.
The sender writes: This is a photo of Voringsfassen in Norway, the most visited waterfall in the country. It has a single free-falling drop of 182 meters (597 ft). there is also an interesting flora in the area with more than hundred species within 20 meters. The area is called Mabodalen and we like to call it the Norwegian Grand Canyon. :)  Lillian.

This Postcrossing comes from China.
The sender writes: Dear JarieLyn, Hi! I'm Juris, a chineses student. This card is about a Chinese festival, Qingming Festival, also called Pure Brightness FEstival, and the traditional food, Ay Tsi. This bright green dumpling is made from glutinous rice flour. Artemisia and fillings like peanut. Hope you like it! Best regards from China. Juris.

Well, I do have some more mail to post, but I will do that later as I think this post is long enough.
I wish you all a happy and stress free day.

Feul For My Mailbox

Yay, my mailbox has finally been nourished with a couple of pen pal letters and a few postcrossings.

The above letter came to greet me all the way from France.
I love the texture of the paper the letter is written on.
I need to find some of that here.
It's kind of shiny with a linen sort of feel to it.

This one from the Netherlands.
I love hearing from my pals and what they've been up to.

Everyone has their own unique writing styles and I love them all.

Again, I forgot to photograph the incoming of my Postcrossings but one is an image of a cute puppy and it came all the way from the Czech Republic.

I also receivve a postcard from a swap. (weekly goals). I believe it traveled to me from New York but I am not positive.

I've been participating in a lot of swaps lately.
Here's three separate envies for the same swap. It's a postcard swap where I send 3 unused postcards to each recipient. Of course I threw in a few extras too.

Postcrossings

One going to China and one going to the Netherlands.

More Postcrossings:

These are headed to India, Taiwan, Belarus, Lithuania, and the UK.

A Postcard for a friend in Teas.

I haven't been to the post office yet so I'm not sure if my mailbox has anything waiting for me or not.
I am expecting two swaps so hopefully those will arrive soon.

Today is a day filled with domestic duties such as laundry, straightening up, vaccuming, grocery shopping, etc.  So far, I haven't accomplished very much.  I've done one load of laundry and that's it.

Time to get my ass in gear.
No more computer, postcrossing, facebooking until I am done with my chores.

Have a great day, everyone.

An angel and a Magic Wand

Good morning. I mean good afternoon to those of you who don't live on pacific standard time.
Actually I slept in quite late this morning. I've only been up for an hour. I hate when that happens.

(Of course, I got preoccupied with something else so now it's much later when I am finishing this post)

This month I decided to participate in the mail swap at LEP.
Once we were assigned a partner we had to send our partner a super hero kit and a letter explaining how the items can enhance our super hero powers.

Here's the package that my super hero kit came in. I love the vintage look of the stickers and cut outs.

Inside the package was the note of explanation written on this lovely card.

Here we have a small clipboard for on the go, and an angel felt pen that doubles as a magic wand.
Isn't she adorable?
Also, there are three ancient scrolls for writing mysterious letters.

The scrolls up close.
I really like these.

Postcards.
I love Love.

A mini notebook, some unused postage stamps, paper clips and stickers.
In the background, a zippered pouch to hold it all in.

What a great package this was.
My partner really made an effort to make this nice for me.
Thank you.

A cute card and postcards from Lynn.
I adore them all.

Swap-bot, Simple Postcards #2.
The sender lives in Florida.

From the cotton fields of Tennessee, a card from another swap, Who Said That?
I really like this card a lot because it reminds me of my grandparents who worked in the cotton fields when they were young.  Also, my home town in California has quite a few cotton fields.

My second card from Peggy who is one of my partners in the RR on Postcrossing.
Her boyfriend took this photo and my picture does not do it justice.
It's really nice.

Here's the outgoing not including today:

Sorry for the horrible photo. I was in a hurry.
This is on its way to Germany.

This one is on its way to Lithuania.
Again, sorry for the horrible picture.

A Pen pal letter going to Georgia.

Another pen pal letter traveling to Tennessee.

That's it for Thursday and Friday's mail.

Tomorrow I will post all of the things I sent out today as well as what I received.

Enjoy the rest of the week-end.
