Today's outgoing mail

Hello. I planned on writing this post early this morning but as usual, procrastination took hold of me. I'm sure some of you can relate to that. Ha ha.  Well, here's the mail I sent out today. One Postcrossing and one pen pal letter.

I write: Dear Olesya, I live in Las VEgas, Nevada but I really love Nashville, Tennessee. Sometimes I can see and hear spirits. I belong to a group where we practice giving each other readings. Wishing you all the best. <3 JarieLyn

Elvis is in the building!

Good morning all you amazing people in the world. Today is a great day because for once, I woke up early. Normally, I'd just be waking up at this time. (8:45 a.m.) I got out of bed at 6:00 o'clock this morning, bursting with energy. It must be all the juicing I've been doing. Yay. It feels good to be among the normal people who actually have to get up early to go to work. (not that I work, but you know what I mean).

I received a fantastic pen pal letter recently from a wonderful person. She always uses such quality stationery. I hadn't heard from her in awhile so it definitely put a lift in my mood. Check it out.

She also sent me the two postcards you see in the photo as well. But that's not all.

I am a HUGE Elvis Presley fan. 

Some of you may know that I spent my honeymoon in Tennessee specifically to see Graceland.

 It was a dream come true.

So when I saw this inside the envelope too, I was ecstatic.

Elvis was such a goodlooking, sexy, hunk of a man. Oh, sorry. On with the mail.

It looks like a postcard but it's actually an envelope. It is absolutely  amazing and I love it.

Thank you, Rachel. You're a peach, so sweet. I will treasure this for as long as I live.

Postcrossings-Southern Style

Hello, it's another gorgeous day here in Las Vegas. I've been working on some pen pal letters, postcrossings, and my project for "Liberate Your Art".  I thought I'd just share a few of the postcrossings going out. I just noticed that all the postcards I chose are from the south. I didn't do it purposely, but at least it gives me a cohesive theme for today's post. Enjoy!

I write:  Hello lovely Kathy, greetings from Las Vegas, Nevada where I currently reside. My husband and I went to Kentucky last year for our vacation and it is absolutely beautiful. We attended the Kentucky Derby and had so much fun. I hope to be able to go again someday. The mint julep is the famous drink that everyone has over there. Personally, I didn't like the tast at alll. A little bit of Nashville in my mailbox!

Hello everyone. I returned home from vacation last week and I must say that my mind is still on southern time. My husband and I went to the Kentucky Derby and to Nashville, Tennessee. If it's possible to be in love with a place, then I am in love with Kentucky and Tennessee. How my heart aches for them. I left a piece of my heart somewhere between Nashville and Bowling Green.

A few days ago a special package arrived in my mailbox with something very tasty inside. Just another awesome taste of Nashville.  But don't take my word for it.  See for yourself!

 

I ordered these to be shipped to me after a wine tasting finale of a plantation home tour. The tour was awesome and so was the wine. The blackberry wine is especially good. I wish I could share a glass with all of you and have one big party. I bought 3 bottles, but I already drank one.

 

 

These are the recent postcards that I have received. One comes from Romania, one from Russia and one from the U.S.

Pen Pal Letter and a Postcard

Good afternoon. I'm sure most of you have had a very productive day so far. I almost greeted you with a "good morning" and then I realized that it's not morning at all.  Wow, time flies when you get out of bed and the first thing you do is write a pen pal letter.  I don't know why, but it takes me a really long time to write one letter. First I have to re-read the previous letter that I got and then I will respond to the conversation and/or start off with what's ever in my head and just write. Sometimes, I pause to check a reference or look for a picture that goes with my story so that I can include it with the letter.  Well, that's what happened today. I paused to look for a picture that I swore I had on my facebook page.  No luck there. Then I scoured my mom's facebook page and no luck there either. I really wanted my penpal to get a copy of the photo with the story. Maybe I'll find it later and send it on another time. Hey, at least I got a few pages written.  It's out the door and in today's mail and I feel really good about it. I hope it make my pen pal smile because I have felt like quite a bore lately.

I write: Dear Claudia, life in Las Vegas is good but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't ready for a new adventure. My husband and I long to hit the road and discover our dream place along the way. Personally, I'd love to live in Tennessee but I haven't quite sold my husband on the idea yet. Time will tell. Until then, I keep my vision alive in my mind's eye. An angel and a Magic Wand

Good morning. I mean good afternoon to those of you who don't live on pacific standard time.
Actually I slept in quite late this morning. I've only been up for an hour. I hate when that happens.

 

(Of course, I got preoccupied with something else so now it's much later when I am finishing this post)

This month I decided to participate in the mail swap at LEP.

Once we were assigned a partner we had to send our partner a super hero kit and a letter explaining how the items can enhance our super hero powers.

 

 

Here's the package that my super hero kit came in. I love the vintage look of the stickers and cut outs.

 

 

Inside the package was the note of explanation written on this lovely card.

 

 

Here we have a small clipboard for on the go, and an angel felt pen that doubles as a magic wand.

Isn't she adorable?

Also, there are three ancient scrolls for writing mysterious letters.

I really like this card a lot because it reminds me of my grandparents who worked in the cotton fields when they were young.  Also, my home town in California has quite a few cotton fields.
