3 Well Filled Out Postcards

Good afternoon. Today is my perfect kind of day. I woke up early and there was nothing pressing that I had to do, nor anywhere I had to be. It feels good to not have to be stressed out about doctor appointments, personal appointments, or household errands. Maybe it's the air that is making me feel so good. It hints at the possibility of rain and I can smell it. I love it. I also enjoy the little bit of humidity. Yeah, it feels like home, but somewhere far away from my current home. I dream.

Now I am 37 Y.O. and I am taking my PhD in Coimbra. I fell in love with the city (and my husband :)) So I chose this postcard. The Flower Fields

It's a gorgeous Sunday here in Las Vegas. Normally, I pamper myself by getting an endermologie treatment every week on this day, but I decided that today I would stay home and attempt to organize my writing and creative space. I really need to get rid of some stuff. It's quite overwhelming.

Late last night I prepared a postcrossing for Monday's mail. It's traveling to Brazil

I write:  Hi Erich, my name is JarieLyn & I am married. We live in Las Vgas and enjoy photography and traveling. Tofay we went to a nurseery called Cactus Joe's where we walked a labyrinth. It was really hot tofay reaching nearly 100'F. Hope you are doing well. Wishing you lots of happy moments. <3 JarieLyn

Postcrossings Milestone

Good Morning Friends!

I have reached a milestone at Postcrossing.com.

I have now officially sent 101 postcards.

Yay!

To date, I have received 88 postcards.

I love Postcrossing.

In addition to being a great learning experience, it is also a wonderful human experience.

It is a soul to soul connection that imprints smiles, dreams and well wishes into my heart.

Writing is powerful stuff, even if it is just to say hello.

 

 

 

Here is a Postcrossing I received from Germany.

The sender writes:

Hello JarieLyn, you're interested in historical buildings.

This one is from 1720.

 It was built to store grain for the miners in the Harz Mountains where it is too cold for farming.

Filled in sacks it was then transported up on the backs of donkeys.

These paths are still used by hikers or changed into ordinary roads.

Today the building hosts the municipal administration.

The thing I like about Postcrossing is being able to read a profile and pick out the perfect card for the recipient, just as this person did for me. Had she not written about the building, I never would have known that it was a historical building, especially from the 1720's.

I love these retro funny cards.

Also, she wrote a great note on the back about TV shows we have in common.

 

I love connecting with people through letters, postcards, greeting cards, short notes and gifts.

Each one I receive is a treasure and I do my best to send my recipients words they will treasure too.

Yesterday, Justin and I went for a drive and ended up in Kelso, CA.

It's an old train depot that was very busy in the 1940's.

Monday Mail and The Magical Forest

Christmas always makes me feel like a kid again. Last night me, my husband, and my mother-in-law took a stroll in the magical forest at Opportunity Village and I couldn't keep the smile off my face. While there, we slid down a giant slide, walked through a 3D mirror maze, took a ride on the express train, played some mini golf, saw some amazing gingerbread displays, and the most amazing christmas lights and displays that were so good it  really did seem like you were walking through a magical forest.

I want to show you just a couple of pictures that I took with my phone before moving on to the mail.

I didn't receive a whole lot yesterday, just two Christmas cards and one postcard.
