Incoming Letters

Good morning my friends. I've been up for over an hour yet I'm still yawning. Have I mentioned before that I'm not a morning person? I've got a busy day ahead of me but I always like to start my day reading blogs and posting on mine if I have something to post. Well, knock me over with a feather because I got some letters in the mail yesterday which means I am able to make a post. I know some people don't like showing the mail they receive because they think it's showing off. Well, in a sense it is, but not in a "look at me, I'm so special" kind of way. but more like a "see, there are people out there who still enjoy writing real letters" kinda of way. And that's why I show them off. But all of you mail people know that all ready. This is for those of you who stumbled on my blog accidentally.

Two great letters, one from New York and one from Connecticut. Reading a letter is like reading a really good book, except it's a lot shorter. Every time you read a letter from the same person it's like reading the next chapter in a book, only it's the next chapter in the person's real life.

Incoming Mail

Wednesday is one of my favorite days of the week because of the activities I'm involved with. I hope you all are having a wonderful day so far. Here's the incoming mail that I recieved yesterday.

It's nearly 11:00 p.m. and I am frustrated to say the least. I have made several attempts to add photos from my phone to no avail. For some reason they're not showing up in the que in the photo section. Now, I have to add them the old fashion way by downloading photos from my phone to my computer and then adding them to the post via upload.

My latest Rumpus Letter. I love receiving these in the mail. The writer of this letter lives in New York. It was a good letter. It's so interesting to read how other people's minds work.

I had a busy day. Wish I could have posted this earlier while I was actually working on it during the day. Goodnight my friends or good morning to those of you living in countries that are just waking up.

Incoming Postcards and a Letter

Hello out there. Who? You! I went to bed fairly early last night and yet I woke up very late. I'm off to a rough start this morning but yesterday's mail was a smile maker.  First, a pen pal letter I received.

Aren't those words the most thoughtful you've ever read on a postcard?  If that doesn't make you smile I don't know what will. It sure made my day. :)

I looked at her website and her paintings are very colorful and nice. They kind of have a whimsical feel to them. I like them a lot and wouldn't mind hanging one in my house to remind me to play.

I love the scene depicted in the above card. It makes me think of an old black and white movie.

This card does look refreshing. And I never knew there was a country called Isle of Man. I love Postcrossing.  The people I get to meet and the little things they share are really special.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dear pen pals......making progress

Good afternoon. I have spent my morning writing, which means I am making progress on my replies to outstanding letters. Out the door, are three more. Pen pal letters, that is.

 

A envelope decorated with washi tape. Obviously this is an international pen pal but I don't want to spoil the surprise so I'll keep my mouth shut on which country it is traveling to. I have several international pen pals.

 

 

This one is traveling to California to a potentially new pen pal. If she reads this blog and she's psychic, she may just figure out that it's for her.

 

 

This letter is traveling to the south and it is long overdue. I mean months and months overdue. I hope I made up for the late reply by writing a long enough letter, and brightening the envelope with some colorful artsy doodles.

 

Incoming Mail:

 

Yesterday I received the most lovely decorate envelope from a swap I joined.

 

 

You can not tell from the photograph, but everything is collaged, including the coffee cup.

Inside the envelope were three unwanted postcards (swap-bot) and an extra something to make me smile.

The extra something included little drink umbrellas.

 

 

This lovely origami envelope that is only about 2"x 2". Inside were some stickers and I loved it for the creativity. It's awesome.

 

 

I also received this vintage postcard from another swap on swap-bot. (an interesting fact on a postcard)  I haven't googled the translation yet but It looks like Christmas greetings, etc.

Forward Movement

Hallelujah!

I finally have some forward movement.

Anyone who has ever been stuck in a rut, or who has had writer's block knows how good I feel at this moment. 

I just want to shout to the world, Woo Hoo!

Cheers to keeping the momentum going.

Now onward to the mail:

Yesterday I sent out two handmade postcards and one pen pal letter.

Five more pen pal letters going out today.

Including the letter posted in the first photo here's who can keep an eye out on their mailboxes:

Melanie, Rachel, Mariska, L. R., Jackie, and Lisa.

I also mailed out five Postcrossings.

They are headed to Florida, Finland, Taiwan, The Netherlands and Ukraine.

I haven't been getting much mail lately except for the occasional Postcrossing which I have been forgetting to take pictures of.

I have received letters from John and Lynn and Melanie recently.

But I only photographed one.

Recent Mailings

Hello my friends.  I've been a bit lazy lately in documenting my mail. I'm behind in organizing what's been coming in. I have a system ( I will tell you about in another post) which I have been using for awhile however, lately, I have been straying from it just a bit which has thrown me off my game.  I am very detail oriented so it is irritating to me when I let things go.  Lucky for this blog, I still photograph everything that comes in. That's what I love about having a camera on my phone. All of my mail pictures are taken with my phone which makes blogging so much easier; no files to download.  All I have to do is share my gallery with google +.

There Are A Million True Paths

Good afternoon.

 It's 4:41 p.m. Nevada time.

I didn't do much of anything today.

My cleaning service was here so other than doing laundry, I basically just killed time surfing the net, reading facebook statuses, and organizing some of my clutter in my office.

I just got back from the post office with a few items in tow.

I received a wonderful letter from Kimmie with a few extra goodies tucked inside.

 

 

I was delighted that a sticker could stimulate my thought process.

It's true, there are a million true paths.

I think most people think of their own true path in terms of business or career direction.

But really, I think your true path is one in which something just feels right.

Me staying home and taking care of the house and being domestic isn't any less of a true path than someone who goes out into the world and works for pay.

Also, someone who is happiest when they are creating a piece of art, even if no one else ever sees it could be considered a true path.

Anyhow, I could go on and on, but since this is a mail blog I won't.

In addition to the Million True Paths sticker she also enclosed a V-Mail reproduction.

 

 

I love it.

Honestly, the 1940's is my favorite era.

This reminds me of a novel I read a couple of years ago called, "Dream When You're Feeling Blue".

It's about three sisters during World War II who sit at their kitchen table and write letters to their boyfriends and soldiers.

It's a very good book.

 

 

A postcard from another swap partner for the fast 10 pc swap.

 

 

I finally received Mariska's vintage postcard that she sent on April 2nd.

Somewhere along the way it took a journey in the postal system and dodged it's destination for nearly a month.

 

 

I'm not sure what happened but it had this sticker on it.

I'm just glad it finally found its way to me.
