I'm Sera & live in connecticut with my husband & 3 cats.
We vacationed in Maine last year- you'd love this place-trains, old cars & the ocean.
I applaud your love of snail mail there's an art to it that's rapidly dying-& that's sad.
Happy 2013!
Sera

The Bridge and Other Good Mail

I went to my mailbox on Wednesday and it was completely empty.
I knew it would be even before I opened it.
That's the way it goes sometimes.
I did send one piece of mail out on the same day.

This is a long overdue card going to a really sweet person in another country.
Yesterday I had some mail.
Yay!
A letter from my cousin.
The contents of my cousins envelope.
I loved receiving a letter from her.

From Melinda on Sendsomething.
An official Postcrossing card from Germany.
A beautiful photo.
The sender writes:
Hi JarieLyn, my name is Harry, 55 yr old.
You like bridges?
Okay-this photo on this card I shot last fall on one of my last cycling tours.
It's a bridge crossing the Rhine-Herne-Canal near the city "Gelsenkirchen".
The weather was not so bright but I hope you like it.
Harry.
A swap-bot card from one of my swap partners for A Postcard For Your Thoughts Swap.
My outhgoing mail for Thursday:

A Month of Letters and Yesterday's Haul.

Like so many other mail enthusiasts, I finally joined the bandwagon and signed up for A Month Of Letters.  The idea is to write and mail one letter a day, whether it be an actual letter, a postcard or other written note. February is a short month and the month of letters is even shorter because there are only 23 postal days in a month.
My goal is to double or triple that amount.
So here's my proposition:
If you leave me your contact information on my postable account which is completely safe, secure and private,
I will send you either a postcard, a notecard or a letter.

There's no obligation, but wouldn't it just make your day to see some happy mail in your mailbox.

Just sayin!

Now, here's what was in my mailbox yesterday.

It's a lovely pile of mail, don't you think?

This was from A Bit Of Everything Swap.
A notecard, teabags, used postage stamps, stickers, postcard and a note.

This is from the same swap, different swap partner.

I received nearly the same things from her.
A notecard, two teabags, used postage stamps, sparkly cat stickers, a bookmark, memo sheets and a nice note.

An official Postcrossing card from Russia.
I love the train with all the snow in the surrounding it.
The sender writes:
Hey, JarieLyn!
My name is Yulia, I'm from Russia.
I love Japan, Korea, South-East Asia, dogs, music, literature, etc.
I work as a Japanese interpreter at a car-maker's and I love my job! <3
My dream is to live in Japan (at least for some time) and have a dog.
If you have instagram, pls, come see my profile: hystericus.
Hope you'll like this card!
Yulia.

An official Postcrossing card from Germany.
I get a lot of cards from Germany.
Hmm! I wonder if thats a sign?
The sender writes:
Dear JarieLyn, very nice greetings from Hamsburg, Germany!
Hopefully you will like this card which shows two famous sailing ships in front of the Container (??)
It's funny to read that you watch way too much TV-normally people try to hide their appetite "for something so normal" :-)
Apart from watching TV (as well too much) I like reading and meeting my friends and drink a glass of good, dry red wine.
Carsten.

I like a glass of good sweet white wine, Carsten.
Cheers!

This is from Just A Happy Note Card Swap.
Very happy faces on the front of the card indeed.
The contents were happy too.

This is week number five from my swap partner for Six Weeks of Snail Mail.
She sent me all kinds of goodies.
I can't wait to try that peel off mask.

A swap from awhile back that resulted in a new penpal.

A letter from my penpal Mendy.

I enjoyed going through all of my mail yesterday.

Here's what went out.

This is for a swap called a PC, Notecard, and Letter swap.
The envelope looks large but it is only a 6 X 9.

That's all I sent, but I am working on a bunch of letters in the next day or two.
It also really bothers me when it takes me a week or longer to respond back to mail I've received.
I know it shouldn't but it does.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Weekend Snail Mail

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday.
This should have been posted on Sunday instead of today.

Here's my weekend mail.

A very nice letter from another blogger and as of this moment, a new pen pal.
Check out her photography blog.
It's pretty cool.
Also, here's a link to her other blog.

An official Postcrossing card from Taiwan.
It looks like paint on canvas.

The sender writes:
Hello JarieLyn,

Happy New Year <3
Cassie.

Yes, I do like it.

This is from a swapper for Surprise in an envelope swap.
Cool postcards, notecards, and stickers.

That's all that came in on Saturday and zero mail on Friday.

I sent out a few items but I only took a photograph of one.
I forgot the others.

This package is going to one of two partners for A Bit Of Everything Swap.
I forgot to take a photo of the other one for this swap.

I also sent out something for Just A Happy Note Swap but forgot to photograph it.

A birthday card for my brother, also forgot to photograph.

Here's what I dropped in the mailbox on Monday even though the post office was closed.

This is a re-send for a postcard swap that never made it to its destination.
Hopefully, this postcard will make it to New York.

These three postcards are for another postcard swap, A Postcard For Your Thoughts.
One is going to Arizona; one is on it's way to Oklahoma and another is traveling to Illinois.

These are official Postcrossing cards.
One going to Pennsyvania, one going to Sweden, and one going to Belarus.

This is going to Germany.
This is week # 6 of Six Weeks of Snail Mail Swap.

And that's it for the weekend and Monday mail.

I hope everyone has a happy day.
