Smile!!!!!

What a gorgeous day it is. It's only 10:00 a.m. and my husband and I have already been down on the Las Vegas Strip photographing people and architecture with some other camera buddies. Can you believe I made it out of bed at 3:45 this morning? I am NOT a morning person, but it sure does feel good to have been so productive already. Our group also had a huge breakfast at The Peppermill. Excellent food I must say, but gigantic portions. Too much for me.

Smile! Here's some outgoing postcards and a letter to brighten someone's day. Enjoy the visual.

This happy guy is going to Germany.
I write: Hi Kathleen!  I live in Las Vegas. Today, my friend and I drove to the mountains and had a picnic and went for a hike. I absolutely love the smell of the pine trees. Have a beautiul life. Remember to stop and smell the roses. <3 JarieLyn

This is a condolence letter to a person I've never written to before. Her boyfriend died suddenly and unexpectedly at the young age of 24. My heart goes out to her.

This one is traveling to Japan.
I write: Hello Reiko, I am 50 years old woman living in Las Vegas, Nevada with my husband. Summer is here and it's hot but I love it. It's currently 104'F outside but I am relaing inside with the air conditioner on. I love my life. <3 Wishing you lots of joy. JarieLyn

Pen Pal Letter Out The Door And Postcrossings Out

Good evening gorgeous readers and bloggers. Even though my days are basically the same whether it's a weekday or a workday, I still relish the weekends. It has such a different vibe. I have my camera club tonight and our guest speaker, Parish Kohanim from Atlanta, Georgia will command a full house. I'm looking forward to hearing his story and seeing some of his work.

I feel accomplished that I got one letter written today. I feel so proud of myself.

This is going to a phenomenal pen pal who writes the best letters ever and loves to create art. It's cold where this person currently resides. Hopefully, this colorful letter will bring some warmth to her door. Yeah, you know it's for you even though I'm not putting your name here. I don't know why I'm not but I am.

This postcard is going to Finland.
I write: YOU ARE fabulous! Dear Sirkku, last night's full moon was amazing. I put all of my cyrstals in a bowl and set them outside on a tree branch so that the energy from the moon could charge them up. I left them out there until the next morning. Do something every day that nourishes yoour soul. <3 JarieLyn

This one is going to Czech Republic.
I write: Helo Tereza, warmest greetings from Las Vegas, NV. I used to do a lot of sewing and crafting when I lived in California. I once made some roller shades for my living room that turned out really nice, and some curtains for my step-dad's law office. Those were probably my favorite fabric creations to date. Now I mostly do mail art and doodling. It relaxes me. Someday I will teach myself to knit or crochet. Have a wonderful day. :)  <3 JarieLyn

This is traveling to Malaysia.
I write: Hello Kelsie, I live in Las Vegas, Nevada but I thought you might like this card from Florida. Disney World is located in Orlando, Florida, but I've never been there. Wishing you all the best. <3 JarieLyn

This one is traveling to Japan.
I write:  Hello Sakia, I used to love to ride motorcycles when I was younger. We lived out in the boonies and it was my favorite thing to do. My dad and my brother raced motorcycles and we enjoyed going to the races. Keep on riding but be safe. Have fun whatever you do. <3 JarieLyn.

Have an awesome weekend everyone. Hopefully, I get some more mail out this weekend.

4 Postcrossings and week-end mail

Hello. I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine's Day and a great week-end.  My week-end was very enjoyable. I had some out of friends who were in town for a convention so I was lucky enough to be able to spend a few hours with them and we had a lot of fun. I think my new favorite drink is a wild berry mojito. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it if you like to drink alcoholic beverages.  Anyway, I have some mail to post. I had a few incomings over the week-end which I will share with you before I get to the outgoing mail.  Feast your eyes on this mail-luscious goodness.

This is from The Adventures of the Traveling Postcard swap and my swap partner was very kind in sending me all of these extras.  I hit the mother lode with this one.  She enclosed some really great postcards. The one in the upper right hand corner is really cute but the best one is a Barbie postcard. I may or may not showcase that one at a later time. It deserves it's own post.

This is a perfectly square postcard from a postcrosser in the Nehterlands.
The sender writes:
Hello JarieLyn, First I want to say what a lovely name. Second I really like Las Vegas. Been there a few times when I was living in L.A., but that was just on the strip and national parks. Greetings from the Nehterlands.
This postcard really appeals to me because I love agricultural areas with farmland, etc.

Here are my Postcrossings going out on Monday.

This one is traveling to Minnesota.
I write:
Hi John, I often take my out of town guest to Lake Las Vegas because the environment is as if you stepped into a Mediterranean country. It doesn't look like it in this image, but it truly is like being in another place. Peace!!!   JarieLyn

This Postcrossing is going to Japan.
I write:
Hello Satoko, I am JarieLyn from Las Vegas, Nevada. Lately, I've been wanting to learn how to knit but I'm not sure if I should try to teach myself or find a class somewhere. I envision myself making beautiful sweaters and dresses that I can wear during cool weather.  Like you, I collect washi tapes. I have a whole drawer full. This is the first time I've used any on a postcard though. I hope you enjoy. Have a happy life. <3 JarieLyn.

This postcrossing is headed to China.
I write:
Hi Elf, the image on this postcard depicts the Fremont Street Experience which is in downtown Las Vegas, also known as old Vegas.  It is different than the Las Vegas Strip and I prefer taking out of town guests here. It is more down to earth and there are lots of cool street artists here that the strip doesn't have. there is also a zip line at the Fremont Street Experience. Have a great life. <3 JarieLyn

This Postcrossing is going to the Netherlands.
I write:
Hello Joyce, the Las Vegas Strip is a very high energy place but there is more to Vegas than casinos and gambling. we have beautiful Red Rock Canyon where the wild burros roam; Mt. Charleston where you can snow ski; Cold Creek where you can see herds of gorgeous wild horses; Valley of fire; Lake Mead, and so much more. It's a great place for photographers, nature lovers and party goers. <3 JarieLyn

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.  I've got some grocery shopping to do. Ugh!!!!

Outgoing Postcards

Good morning my friends. I'm sitting in my office at home and I've got my portable heater next to me warming my feet. I love feeling warm and cozy as I read all my favorite blogs.   I have a few Postcrossings to share with you this morning, and later maybe a few pen pal letters. Lets get started.

I bought this postcard while in Virginia City last August inside a great little bookstore. The whole store was filled with antiques and books all about the wild west. Fascinating stuff for me absorb.
This card is on a journey to Canada.
I write:

Hello Jenny and welcome to Postcrossing. You have the same birthday as my grandma. She was my most favorite person in the world and I miss her every single day. If you have just a small bit of the qualities she had, then you are a great person. sending you good vibes and happy wishes from my home in Las vegas, Nevada. I hope you enjoy Postcrossing as much as I do. <3 JarieLyn

This card is going to Japan.
I write:
Hello I....., I hope this postcard reaches you with good cheer. Las Vegas, Nevada is where I make my home. In addition to Postcrossing, I also collect vintage postcards for my personal collection. It is my opinion that they tell a more accurate story than the history books.  Smile, it's contagious. <3 JarieLyn.

This card is on its way to Minnesota.
I write:
Dear R., warmest greetings from Las Vegas, NV. I adore any illustration by Norman Rockwell because every time I look at one of his paintings it evokes some kind of emotion from me. It stirs deep within me, a feeling of nostalgia. This particular image is about the reaction to the Vietnam War.  I love how each face shows an emotion of dread. It makes my heart sink. Take care and have a glorious day! <3 JarieLyn.

This card is traveling to Germany.
I write:
Dear S, back when I was in high school many many years ago, the kids who took german as a language would sell german candy as part of a class fundraiser. I always bought some becase it was the best candy ever. It was soft like taffy, a bit sour and was shaped like a skinny candy bar. I wish I could remember the name of it. Keep enjoying your life, it goes by way too fast.  Sending you good vibes. <3 JarieLyn

Until the next posting...............

Have a glorious time.

Hello from Taiwan!
I'm Kai, 14.
I like to learn foreign languages in my free time.
I also like to take a small walk in a small park near my home.
I really enjoy being with nature.
The feeling when you're surrounded by trees is nothing but fantastic.
Wish you all the best and happy postcrossing.

A postcard and a note card from two of my penpals.
The postcard comes from The Netherlands and the notecard comes from Illinois.
Out of respect for my dear pen pals, I never reveal what they have written to me.
But I do like to show what they have sent to me.

I've received a couple of letters in the past month but have not photographed any of them.
I have also been sending out cards to various people, but again, I have forgotten to photograph them.
I intend to do my best in the coming days and weeks and months to be more consistent in recording what I send out and to whom.

I love this time of year, especially the closer it gets to Christmas.

Recent Mailings

Hello my friends.  I've been a bit lazy lately in documenting my mail. I'm behind in organizing what's been coming in. I have a system ( I will tell you about in another post) which I have been using for awhile however, lately, I have been straying from it just a bit which has thrown me off my game.  I am very detail oriented so it is irritating to me when I let things go.  Lucky for this blog, I still photograph everything that comes in. That's what I love about having a camera on my phone. All of my mail pictures are taken with my phone which makes blogging so much easier; no files to download.  All I have to do is share my gallery with google +.

Here's what's been coming in lately. Lots of good stuff.
